At Federal Fire Equipment Co. we strive to be the best possible resource for building owners and managers seeking fire and life safety equipment, service, and information. Over the 60 plus years in business we have adapted to the many changes in building code requirements and enforcement. We are consistent in keeping our employees well trained and current on the industry standards and requirements.

Founded in 1959 as Short’s Fire Equipment, we began as company selling, installing, and servicing, commercial kitchen fire suppression systems and portable fire extinguishers. Today we have grown into a well-rounded fire and life safety system company that has expanded into sales, installation, and services for fire alarm, fire releasing, clean agent, sprinkler, and emergency egress lighting.

As the business expanded, so did our services and territory. Located in the heart of North Central Iowa, Mason City has been a great place for us to stretch from and provide services to the rural areas. We value our customer service and not expanding our territory beyond our ability to reach.
